What You Need to Know When Preparing For Retirement

Here at Sams/Hockaday, our passion is to help individuals aging into Medicare. During this time, many individuals also choose to retire.

If you’re currently planning and budgeting for retirement – even if you’re years away from it – I would love to share some information that will help you in the planning process.

Healthcare In Retirement

When it comes to your healthcare, many retirees are overwhelmed by the options. We often hear questions like, “When should I start drawing Social Security?" and "When should I enroll in Medicare Part B?”

In addition, there’s Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplements, Medical Savings Accounts, 27 drug plans to choose from... it’s a lot to deal with on your own.

What’s even more is that many retirees don’t realize how inexpensive it can actually be. I hear people say, "My gosh, if I knew what my insurance would have cost me, I could've retired a long time ago."

Medicare Enrollment

Also, just because you're eligible for Medicare doesn't always mean it's in your best interest to sign up. If you want to continue working, we can help you decide if Medicare is right for you, or if you should wait until retirement.

Retirement Accounts and Investments

Finally, I’d like to touch on your 401k or other retirement account. When you retire and your employer is no longer contributing to your account, it’s the perfect time to roll it over.

All of the agents here at Sams/Hockaday, including myself, can put together one heck of a plan for you so that your nest egg is not only preserved, but still growing safely.

Medicare, Retirement, and Beyond

The agents here at Sams/Hockaday aren’t just Medicare Supplement experts. We can help you plan for Medicare, retirement, and beyond.
