Shopping locally is always important, but it’s critical during the COVID-19 pandemic. Going local keeps money in our community, provides jobs, and gives our city character.
Local business owners are invested in our community, they provide better customer service, and they’re more likely to donate to local charities.
If you can, please support some of the local businesses on our list this year! Many more aren’t on this list, so please shout out your local business in the comment section below. Merry Christmas!
We originally published this article in 2017. We have updated it for the 2020 Christmas season to include many new local businesses and timely information about specials and order deadlines. Unfortunately, The Decanter and The Root Cellar have closed, so they are no longer on our list.
An honorable mention is Door 4 Brewing. They are unsure about their hours during the holiday season because of the COVID-19 virus. Stay tuned and follow them on Facebook for updates on hours, specials, and events.
